The Synodikon of The
7th Ecumenical Council
As the prophets beheld, as the apostles have taught, as the Church has received, as the teachers have declared, as the world has agreed, as grace has shown forth, as truth has been revealed, as falsehood has been dispelled, as wisdom has become manifest, as Christ awarded; thus we declare thus we affirm; thus we proclaim Christ our true God, and honor His saints in words, writings, thoughts, sacrifices, churches, and holy icons - on the one hand, worshipping and reverencing Christ as God and Lord, and on the other, honoring the saints as true servants of the same Lord of all, and offering them proper veneration. This is the faith of the fathers. This is the faith of the Orthodox. This is the faith on which the world is established. Therefore, with fraternal and filial love we praise the heralds of the faith, those who with glory and honor have struggled for the faith, as we say: to the champions of Orthodoxy, faithful emperors, most-holy patriarchs, Hierarchs, teachers, martyrs, and confessors: May your memory be eternal. |

Veneration of the life-giving cross
The cross stands in the midst of the church in the middle of the lenten season not merely to remind men of Christ's redemption and to keep before them the goal of their efforts, but also to be venerated as that reality by which man must live to be saved. "He who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me" (Mt.10:38). For in the Cross of Christ Crucified lies both "the power of God and the wisdom of God" for those being saved (1 Cor.1:24). |
Annual meeting goals
Parishioners through discussions and affirmations came to the following conclusions:
1. We commit to support the renovation project now and in the future by Orthodox Christian usage.
2. We will support the work of the Church locally and beyond.
3. We will make certain that there is no “ministry of one” at St. Gregory’s.
4. We will practice sound stewardship by supporting the budget approved by the congregation at this meeting.

The Cross
St. John Chrysostom, Homilies on Galations
Truly this symbol is thought despicable; but it is so in the world's reckoning, and among men; in Heaven and among the faithful it is the highest glory. Poverty too is despicable, but it is our boast; and to be cheaply thought of by the public is a matter of laughter to them, but we are elated by it. So too is the Cross our boast. He does not say, `I boast not,' nor, `I will not boast,' but, `Far be it from me that I should,' as if he abominated it as absurd, and invoked the aid of God in order to his success therein. And what is the boast of the Cross? That Christ for my sake took on Him the form of a slave, and bore His sufferings for me the slave, the enemy, the unfeeling one; yea, He so loved me as to give Himself up to a curse for me. What can be comparable to this? |

"Many Years!"...
"To all who – and they are many and strong –
have provided this community
with a
wonderous ‘upper room!’
Pascha 2007
We can meet now in extended fellowship! We can host our sister
communities! Conferences can be held! Coffee Hours will be absolutely enhanced. The place
is pleasing to the eye and heart because so many contributed to its completion.
To the select
few who led so patiently and with concern for the well-being of St. Gregory’s as a
community of believers who choose to use this place to actually further the Kingdom in
gatherings that are good and edifying! To them for providing such a stepping stone into the
future we owe a huge thank you. We offer it here and, please God, in the times to come
when we use that which has been given to us! Again, Many Years!
To those who cleaned and decorated last Saturday in between worship and more worship!"... Many Years.
