realizing the true importance
of unity and love in the parish.
The Rector’s Council exists as a means to allow parish clergy (Fr. Daniel Rentel, Fr. Mark Lowery, Fr. Kevin Greenwood, Fr. James Sizemore and Subdeacon John Mustric) to address pastoral matters, share ideas on those wishing to enter the Church, and express concerns and plans for those actions and needs within the altar area.
The Council makes certain that services meet with the high standards of Orthodox worship; make the entry of converts into the Church organized and consistent; provide follow-up for those received into the Church; and to keep the altar areas and sanctuary clean, orderly and aesthetically pleasing to God and worshippers.
It provides training for altar servers, advances and controls the entry process for reception into Orthodoxy; and works to make our spiritual unity a reality.
It is assisted when necessary by Altar servers, seasonal volunteers for church cleaning and vestment changes, etc.
The Council believes its meetings benefit the congregation by the intensity of their concerns for the pastoral/spiritual life at St. Gregory’s. They would want the congregation to know that they speak and act with mutual accord and would strive to join the congregation in realizing the true importance of unity and love in the parish.
